- Inquiries
- By email (info@herculeslabo.com), the website contact form, or our official LINE account. We reply within business days as a rule.
- Sale price
- As shown on each product page (prices on Japanese pages are in JPY, tax included).
“Inquire” items are individually quoted (tax included).
Any foreign-currency figures shown on English pages are indicative only; the binding price is in JPY and foreign-currency amounts vary with the exchange rate. - Additional charges
- • Domestic shipping: domestic shipping — including for artworks (specimen art) — is borne by the customer (at cost). Works are sent by Yu-Pack or fine-art transport, and we advise the actual cost before dispatch. Shipping for specimens and live insects is likewise at cost, advised on each product page or individually.
• Payment surcharges: we do not add a payment surcharge to buyers (payment-processing fees are absorbed into the price). Where bank transfer is introduced, transfer fees are borne by the customer.
• Import VAT, customs duties and clearance fees on international orders: these are not included in the displayed price or shipping. They are payable by you as the importer (DDU — the buyer bears import charges in the destination country) and are collected by your carrier or customs office before delivery. See “International shipping charges (DDU)” below. - Payment methods
- • The payment method currently available is PayPal (cart checkout, Route A).
• Bank transfer (“Inquire” items, live insects, and invoice payment, Route B) and credit-card payment will be added in stages.
The method may depend on the item and purchase route, and is advised on each product page or in your quotation. - Payment timing
- • PayPal: charged at order confirmation.
• Credit card (once introduced): charged at order confirmation (we may capture before shipping).
• Bank transfer (once introduced): per the invoice or quotation we issue, within 7 days of invoice issuance as a rule. Late payment may result in cancellation and relisting. - Delivery time
- • In-stock artworks and specimens: shipped within 7 business days of the order (or of confirmed payment for bank transfer).
• Made-to-order and “Inquire” pieces: per the individually agreed lead time.
• Live insects: shipped after confirmed payment, with the ship date adjusted for weather (see “Live insects: 72-hour live-arrival guarantee” in our Returns & Refund Policy).
• International: varies with customs clearance and transit; advised individually. - Returns & cancellations
- As set out in our Returns & Refund Policy. Artworks (specimen art) are one-of-a-kind; returns and cancellations for customer convenience are not accepted. Transport damage is handled separately under our transport-damage coverage. Live insects are covered by our 72-hour live-arrival guarantee. Please see that page for details.
- Offer validity
- Quotations and invoices for “Inquire” items state a validity period (7 days from issuance as a rule). As every work is one of a kind, a piece is withdrawn from sale once acquired.
- Defective / non-conforming goods
- Damage or defects (non-conformity) are handled under our Returns & Refund Policy.
- International shipping charges (DDU)
- International shipments are DDU (buyer-borne) as a rule. Import VAT, customs duties and clearance fees are charged to you, the importer, in the destination country. We share an estimated landed cost for your country before we ship, and ship only after you confirm. Refusing delivery does not waive these charges. Whether a piece is exempt from customs duty as fine art depends on it falling within your country’s customs definition of “works of art” — for specimen-based decorative art this is not yet settled. Even where it does qualify, import VAT may apply (e.g. UK 5%, France 5.5%, Italy 5%, Germany 7%*). Where it does not, standard rates may apply (e.g. Germany 19%, UK 20%).
*Rates and customs classifications may change; the figures above are indicative. We re-check the current classification and rate before shipping. - Notes on use
- Live insects are living creatures; their condition changes with husbandry, which is the customer’s responsibility after delivery. They are not designated invasive species, but never release living insects into the wild.
